Fire in my Veins

The following is a poem inspired by my own meditation on and search for direction and purpose in life.

I don’t fit in a box
I dance from room to room
In my veins run liquid fire
The substance of creation

Beautiful things come out of ordinary places
Useful relics arise from ardent ash heaps
The forgotten will be rebuilt
The light will shine again

An Island of life in the midst of fire
A canopy of green over a forest stream
My life is not a dream but my dream is not a lie
My aspiration is the thing I pursue

My heart is set on a journey to Heaven
My map is a book eternal who is a man
My path leads through the valley
The Lord will guide me Home

Sorry if this poetry is confusing or mystifying, but it was originally written simply as an entry in my journal that made it to the blog.
